Conspiracy Theory Wrapped In A Flag

Conspiracy theorists are everywhere. I have heard pretty much everything from JFK assassination stories to fake landing on the moon videos. The internet is crawling with such tin-foil hat wearing crowd. I hated these people and thought they have nothing better to do with lives. I thought of so much good that these people could do by helping the homeless or doing volunteer work. But then all these stories hit home. When my elder brother got shot in Afghanistan his body was flown back to US. But the government banned TV coverage and even local newspapers to attend the arrival. Now I ask you, is this not a conspiracy to hide the nation’s dead?

A Well Balanced Equation

I used to carry around Principia Mathematica with me on the New York subways. Most people used to mock me carrying a hard bind book for light reading. Very few people understood that it is one of the most comprehensive books on mathematics. At that time I was doing my Bachelors degree in college and was keen on impressing smart girls. My idea was to charm them with mathematics. Sounds farfetched and desperate? I thought so too. Then I met my future wife on campus and discussed the beauty of differential equations over dinner at our first date. We have been together ever since and people described us a well balanced equation.

Hours In A Day

I do not understand why we have 24 hour days. I do not sleep alternate nights because of the 24 hour block. I prefer 36 hour days or at least 30 hour days. That way I can get a lot more work done in a day without having to sleep every few hours. Being at work for 8 hours and spending another 2 hours in travel it leaves little room for personal projects. That’s why, whenever I am restricted to 24 hour days, I sleep every other night. Some think this will screw up my health and mess up my internal biological clock. But I have been doing this for the past month and I am still alive. More importantly I am more productive than ever.

Dressing Up For The Occasion

My work is pretty ordinary – no rocket science or exploding building in what I do. Only picking up the phone calls and forwarding it to the correct tech support department of my company. Someone once said everyone contributes to the bigger community by doing the smallest of jobs. But I do not feel that I am “contributing” anything. That’s why I try to dress up in a suit and tie every day with polished shoes so that people think my job is important. I also carry a suitcase which has nothing but a notepad and a pen.

What Would Jesus Do?

As a priest I made a vow to help and forgive people no matter how heinous their crime is. I have to listen confessions of all kinds of people be it cheating spouses or lying, smoking, drinking, drug addicted teenagers and young adults or criminals. After quite a few years in this line of work I have come to accept such things as a part of life. But when I had just started I had a very difficult time adjusting and accepting these confessions. The only thing that got me through was what I had heard a long time ago - what would Jesus do. When situation is grim and things don’t look good ask yourself the same thing.
